Background
When is it?
We will start our journey to London in mid-July, 2008. We plan to fly back to the states on or around August 20th, making this a one month journey.
Where does it start?
London, England
Where to?
Kribi, Cameroon … just north of the equator, this West African country is our final destination
The African adventure
A trip to the edge of the map …
For us, the Adventurists Rally: Africa is an attempt to raise money and awareness for Send a Cow, through a crazy, cross-continental journey. Send a Cow is a charitable organization based in the UK which finances and supports agricultural development projects across Africa. Teams from all over the world will gather in London before setting off, and against conventional wisdom we have joined the masses! Poke around our site to find out more …
What’s in store
While we have contemplated a variety of routes, but our current plan is to cross the Sahara in Morocco and Mauritania a look at our route page, as it evolves, by clicking here.
How does it work?
The Adventurists Rally is made up of four key ingredients:
1. Charity - Raising huge sums of cash for an awesome project
2. Vehicles - 1-litre and used, if you go over you must pay for every .1 litre.
3. The route - There is no pre-set one
4. On your own - There’s absolutely no back up provided by the Adventurists organization, it interferes with the adventure aspect … so, it’s up to us and our creative friends to make it.
